George Lucas: I don't understand what's going on, or if its true but is there any way to stop this?

i am going to paste from a facebook group cause i'm not great at wording things:

This year it was announced that George Lucas's disregard for canon has gone to a new atrocious level. First elaborated by renowned Star Wars novel author Karen Traviss (Legacy of the Force, Republic Commando) , a massive retcon has taken place regarding the warrior culture of Mandalorians. Traviss has revealed the following: "When I was finishing 501st in January this year, I was told about a significant continuity change coming up in the Clone Wars cartoon. (As was mentioned and shown in a couple of books that came out in the summer - this is not confidential information of any kind now.) I was told that the Mandalorians were being revamped as long-standing pacifists who'd given up fighting centuries ago and that Mandalore was now a post-apocalyptic wasteland devastated by war. I was told not to refer to (recent) Mandalorian history because of that, as it was obviously at odds with the old continuity in my novels. That's fairly common procedure for any franchise - but unfortunately it wasn't that simple in practice. The two Commando series - and quite a few older books and comics, come to that -were based entirely on that original history, and basic logic meant that the fundamental plot of the series could never have existed if this had been a pacifist society. Neither could any of the characters or their motives have existed, because they were wholly based on a global warrior culture living on a non-nuked Mandalore. I had some discussion in January with the editor about possible ways around the problem, but after that, I heard nothing to indicate that the position would change, so the plan went ahead to wind up my existing storyline in the two books that were already in the pipeline. It was too late for me to rewrite 501st even if the changes hadn't made that pretty well impossible."

OK 'let's go through and point out things that are now False in the Star Wars EU universe. Stat with the main key points.

1-Jango was not Mandalorian at all. Would that make him Death Watch then?
2-Boba has no reason to wear the Mythosaur on his armor as it represents the Mandalorian culture as we know it.
EU things tha...t are now untrue.
3-Does this mean Anakin Solo is not dead now that the Vong story was changed?
4-Who won the Vong invasion now?
5-Boba does not build an elite Mando super trooper squad to battle the Vong.
6-Jacen Solo does not become a Sith Lord therefore is not dead.
7-Mara Jade is now also not dead now that the story arc has changed!

Any others you can think of that is most likely in the starwars.com Database that are now untrue?

George was bought out by cartoon network + Disney bought half the rights to star wars so I was expecting shit. But really I wasn't expecting them to change everything about Mandalorians to change. If it wasn't for the fact that show was geared towards kids they wouldn't have changed it

Nils Baete: I don't look Clone Wars series but i heard there where only Mando pacifists in one episode and it was some community, but they were not the only Mandalorians there where also other REAL Mandalorians.
Ok those Mando pacifist had control over Mandalore (the planet) in that episode wich is kinda dumb but except for that and for that fact they call themself "Mandalorians" (wich they are not in my eyes cause they don't follow the "Resol'nare" (Six actions)) it won't have such great implications that all Mandalorians will be changed into pacifists. Or am i wrong?
Btw Mandalore can't be a pacifist world forever cause after the movies Boba Fett "lives" on Mandalore being The Mandalore, and it's not pacifist at that time.

Are you talking about the 'deathwatch' trilogy? because maybe....just MAYBE........lucas told Traviss not to write about that time period because of this and she had had a book really involved in CW era that couldn't continue, but other things are not affected, such as boba/jango, the Yuzhaan Vong wars, the LotF, etcetera? it could be that the deathwatch trilogy is what was really going on, and mandalorians as we know them are not really going to crumble, as long as they DON'T go back to TOR era, because KotOR and the SW:TOR MMO depend HEAVILY on the Mando's being jingoistic and militant, some would say valiant. But if the paciifism began during an undocumented place in history, perhaps between TOR and CW eras, and ended sometime bbetween CW (deathwatch in particular) and Galactic Civil War eras, or at LEAST the era of the Yuzzhaan Vong wars, then it should still be okay. maybe it won't screw up established plotlines too bad?

SWTOR PVP preferences and suggestions?

Hey guys, ive recently been playing a lot of swtor (star wars the old republic ) and ive tried a couple different classes - I have a 41 Sage healer that ive healed as much as 410k healing in 1 WZ, I have yet to be outhealed since about level 20. Pretty admirable healing with good survivability and decent utility, but im curious what the preferred healer is at top end pvp - not "the best pvp healer" as im sure we can all agree would be situational, but what is consistently effective and why? Also I find myself constantly grouped with friends - what is in your opinion the most complimentary 2-man team for warzones that can sustain effectiveness (not double stealthers for a quick kill and retreat haha)? Me and a friend have been using Vanguard tank spec with Sage heal spec and its done incredibly well - he gets top dmg and objectives and im top heals, and middle of the pack dmg - we both average 7+ medals. I also have 2 level 30 Troopers a commando and vanguard, if you play either type of trooper at high end play which spec are you using for pvp why? MY LAST QUESTION haha I promise - where can I find some credible info on class builds outside the forums for itemization, specs and best HPM spells with some stats and number sheets? Please choose any of the listed questions and shoot me an answer, just whatever applies to you -Thanks! Id like answers from informed opinions and experiences.

Any help on starting Star Wars Republic Commando?

It starts loading the first level and right as it finishes the game shuts off. This is extremely annoying as it is a wonderful game. I fear my new computer may be to good for it unfortunately. Also who thinks they should restart the sequel. I mean this game is totally worth an entire game series as its story, game-play, and graphics blow a lot of modern games out of the water.
It is a legitimate copy of the game, I don't roll like that, And it worked fine on my crappy ten year old desktop but not on my brand spanking new laptop, and before you say the problem is I went with a laptop. The laptop is better than my desktop in every way including power and graphics.

Nils Baete: I don't look Clone Wars series but i heard there where only Mando pacifists in one episode and it was some community, but they were not the only Mandalorians there where also other REAL Mandalorians.
Ok those Mando pacifist had control over Mandalore (the planet) in that episode wich is kinda dumb but except for that and for that fact they call themself "Mandalorians" (wich they are not in my eyes cause they don't follow the "Resol'nare" (Six actions)) it won't have such great implications that all Mandalorians will be changed into pacifists. Or am i wrong?
Btw Mandalore can't be a pacifist world forever cause after the movies Boba Fett "lives" on Mandalore being The Mandalore, and it's not pacifist at that time.

Are you talking about the 'deathwatch' trilogy? because maybe....just MAYBE........lucas told Traviss not to write about that time period because of this and she had had a book really involved in CW era that couldn't continue, but other things are not affected, such as boba/jango, the Yuzhaan Vong wars, the LotF, etcetera? it could be that the deathwatch trilogy is what was really going on, and mandalorians as we know them are not really going to crumble, as long as they DON'T go back to TOR era, because KotOR and the SW:TOR MMO depend HEAVILY on the Mando's being jingoistic and militant, some would say valiant. But if the paciifism began during an undocumented place in history, perhaps between TOR and CW eras, and ended sometime bbetween CW (deathwatch in particular) and Galactic Civil War eras, or at LEAST the era of the Yuzzhaan Vong wars, then it should still be okay. maybe it won't screw up established plotlines too bad?

This year it was announced that George Lucas's disregard for canon has gone to a new atrocious level. First elaborated by renowned Star Wars novel author Karen Traviss (Legacy of the Force, Republic Commando) , a massive retcon has taken place regarding the warrior culture of Mandalorians. Traviss has revealed the following: "When I was finishing 501st in January this year, I was told about a significant continuity change coming up in the Clone Wars cartoon. (As was mentioned and shown in a couple of books that came out in the summer - this is not confidential information of any kind now.) I was told that the Mandalorians were being revamped as long-standing pacifists who'd given up fighting centuries ago and that Mandalore was now a post-apocalyptic wasteland devastated by war. I was told not to refer to (recent) Mandalorian history because of that, as it was obviously at odds with the old continuity in my novels. That's fairly common procedure for any franchise - but unfortunately it wasn't that simple in practice. The two Commando series - and quite a few older books and comics, come to that -were based entirely on that original history, and basic logic meant that the fundamental plot of the series could never have existed if this had been a pacifist society. 2-Boba has no reason to wear the Mythosaur on his armor as it represents the Mandalorian culture as we know it.

3-Does this mean Anakin Solo is not dead now that the Vong story was changed?
4-Who won the Vong invasion now?
5-Boba does not build an elite Mando super trooper squad to battle the Vong.
6-Jacen Solo does not become a Sith Lord therefore is not dead.
7-Mara Jade is now also not dead now that the story arc has changed!

Any others you can think of that is most likely in the starwars.com Database that are now untrue?

George was bought out by cartoon network + Disney bought half the rights to star wars so I was expecting shit. But really I wasn't expecting them to change everything about Mandalorians to change. If it wasn't for the fact that show was geared towards kids they wouldn't have changed it

Is there anything we as fans can really do about this? I hate this. I love Mano'ade and this cartoon horrificus cannot continue. What can we do to get George Lucas to Un-screw this.
Maybe we can write an open letter to George Lucas himself, telling him what a bullshit that is. I doupt that he is aware off the bad mood among the SW-fans that he caused by his desicion to make the Mandos Pacifists - or he doesn'r care. In both cases he needs to be told that we do not tolerate this total canon-messup.
Sighned by enough fans it should have at least a little impact.

Nils Baete: I don't look Clone Wars series but i heard there where only Mando pacifists in one episode and it was some community, but they were not the only Mandalorians there where also other REAL Mandalorians.
Ok those Mando pacifist had control over Mandalore (the planet) in that episode wich is kinda dumb but except for that and for that fact they call themself "Mandalorians" (wich they are not in my eyes cause they don't follow the "Resol'nare" (Six actions)) it won't have such great implications that all Mandalorians will be changed into pacifists. Or am i wrong?
Btw Mandalore can't be a pacifist world forever cause after the movies Boba Fett "lives" on Mandalore being The Mandalore, and it's not pacifist at that time.
Btw: somewhere in the CW series showed up a "Mandalorian" with a BLACK lightsaber! WTF a black lightsaber is impossible cause black is NOT a form of light. So these CW series are just crap, they should have made them correctly or not made them at all >:( .
Nils Baete, i am hoping this is right! Are you talking about the 'deathwatch' trilogy? because maybe....just MAYBE........lucas told Traviss not to write about that time period because of this and she had had a book really involved in CW era that couldn't continue, but other things are not affected, such as boba/jango, the Yuzhaan Vong wars, the LotF, etcetera? it could be that the deathwatch trilogy is what was really going on, and mandalorians as we know them are not really going to crumble, as long as they DON'T go back to TOR era, because KotOR and the SW:TOR MMO depend HEAVILY on the Mando's being jingoistic and militant, some would say valiant. But if the paciifism began during an undocumented place in history, perhaps between TOR and CW eras, and ended sometime bbetween CW (deathwatch in particular) and Galactic Civil War eras, or at LEAST the era of the Yuzzhaan Vong wars, then it should still be okay. maybe it won't screw up established plotlines too bad?
I HOPE this is the one we're talking about!
But serilously, EVERYONE tell EVERYONE YOU KNOW to come join this page, and make sure they DO IT, and we could create a petition! I like Angelika Mühlnikel's idea to create 'open letter to George Lucas himself' and get it to him if that's possible. Get him to get back the rights to his own legacy for cryin' out loud, that would help a lot! he's just trying to get more kid viewers is what it is, people who've only ever heard of Anakin or Boba because of the SW:TCW show and haven't even seen the movies, even the original trilogy fer cryin out loud!, and think Count Dooku is the most powerful Sith ever (because they've never heard of Exar Kun).
We REALLY need to do a petition, and i don't know how, but if somebody can set one up, I will do WHATEVER it takes to reverse this spiral!

................in conclusion, as you can see, this is very much confusing me and I am devastated by this if it is as far reaching as some say, i am hoping it is not true some of the comments are mine. (ps please excuse the profanity i did not write it i just pasted it its not mine) this is from a facebook group protesting the change, is there anything fans can do about it? does anyone have accurate information on the situation at all? please somebody help me sort this out! it's bad enough already with Legacy comics ending prematurely and whatnot, but now THIS? this could potentially destroy the whole star wars canon and universe! i need some answers here :'(
